view wine

When it came to creating a label for our own wine grown right here at Sancerre Estate we were in a bit of a pickle. We could not call the wine Sancerre as it is a wine region in France. Also, it would be a bit confusing. A French Sancerre white wine is always Sauvignon Blanc and a red wine is always Pinot Noir so to make an Alvarinho called Sancerre would be wrong.

We tried to think of a name that was relevant to our property and as everyone who comes up the driveway and looks at the view always say ‘you have an amazing view’ hence the name View Wine was formed. Plus, we can write ‘Enjoy the View at Sancerre Estate’ on every bottle. Plus, View Wine is much easier to pronounce and spell than Sancerre so if you are googling us or recommending us to friends it will be easier for you to find us.

We grow six varieties of grapes, from the top of the hill to the road we have - Alvarinho, Gros Manseng, Semillon and Sauvignon Blan

Across the road we have - Shiraz and Merlot

From these six varieties we make 9 styles of wine, with more products planned for the future………….

Stacey and Brad have a very cozy place in a little gem of a region! Very cozy and comfortable and they treat you like friends rather than paying guests. Their knowledge of the area and wine varietals was also very helpful. We will be back for sure, for the amazing breakfasts alone!
